Is There a Book You Need to Write and Publish?

For some of you, that answer is a resounding “Yes!” Our inbox here at Three Ravens has been inundated with queries and submission packages over the last few days, since a posting about our company went live at AuthorsPublish.com.

While we’ve been caught a little off-guard by the sudden flood, we’re excited to dig into the manuscripts and see what’s there! If you’ve got a novel you’re itching to send our way, check out our guidelines either at AuthorsPublish.com or directly from our site. Our focus is largely fantasy with a mix of sci-fi and other genres, and we prefer action-adventure with a great cast of characters worth following to the end. We look forward to seeing what you’ve got!

(I say “we” but it’s mostly going to be William Joseph Roberts and R.J. Ladon having fun with it this weekend. I’m still down visiting family, and will be on the road all day Saturday and Sunday, so consider this an early weekend post!)

We also have many short story submission possibilities available on our open calls page. Post-apocalyptic, horror, fantasy of many different flavors… There’s something for most anyone here, from the serious to the humorous and whimsical.

And speaking of whimsical…

The Feather and the Lamp Audio is Out!

(Read ’til the end for a special announcement about The Feather and the Lamp!)

Lovers of audio books, rejoice! You have another offering from Three Ravens Publishing to sink your ears into (Is that even possible? I mean, “sink your teeth” I get, but… You know what, never mind). L.N. Hunter’s The Feather and the Lamp is a lighthearted fantasy adventure following a young lady-turned explorer and the genie who’s trying to kill her. Narrator Katie Thompson does an amazing job of keeping to the whimsical nature of the story while delivering a strong and lively performance. Listen to the sample at Amazon, and give the book a try! It is well worth the credit:

A magic lamp should have been a gateway to Imperceptibility’s every desire….

So how did she end up in the underworld covered in slobber from a three-headed dog?

And then there’s capture by fanatical priest-mercenaries, sacrifice to a quantum dragon, and getting trapped in a chicken coop.

Will she ever find her way back home?

More important still, what’s a goose feather got to do with any of this?

Feather and the Lamp’s cover art has reached the next round of the contest!

AllAuthor.com is running a cover art contest, and The Feather and the Lamp has made it to the second round because of all your help! If you have time, log in to AllAuthor.com and give Feather an upvote. L.N. Hunter and artist Mike Armstrong greatly appreciate it, as do we at Three Ravens! Thank you for the support!

That’s all for today and this weekend. Take care, all! Looking forward to being back home in the writer’s dungeon.
