We haven’t either, at least not until recently.
I think most folks following my pages know about Hiro the Editor kitty, who is one of our barn cats that comes into the house at 4am, (when I get up to start my word count), to snuggle up and get scritches before breakfast.
Well, that and cry until I give in and pour him a little milk to “tide him over”
Then, only a few weeks ago…
A new kitten appeared…
who just walked right in one morning with Hiro and Gomez and has lovingly become known as “Sherbert” or “Bert” for short. He’s maybe four months old and will be due very soon for a trip to the vet that he will not enjoy.
Then, yesterday morning when I went out to check on the chickens, I heard that distinctive little peep of a kitten. Now, down here in Georgia, there is a frog that makes a similar sound and I half expected to find a frog lurking behind my shop.
Nope. What I found was this little girl.
Rough guessing, she’s about four weeks old, give or take, and very possibly part bobcat. Bobbed tail with dark tip, fuzzy as all get out and you can’t tell it in this pic, but she’s got those jowl tufts too.
She’s got a little cold and gunked up eyes, but we’ve been working on that already and will get her to the vet soon enough.
Since arriving and stealing everyone’s hearts, she has since earned the name “Ernisten” Or, Ernie for short just so we have Bert and Ernie.
Enough of things around Raven Central. How about the latest of what we have going on?

Ready for more Car Warriors action?
Then you’ll want to snag a copy of 72 HOURS TO GRACELAND, Dead Man’s Run book 2 by David Hensley that is now posted for pre-orders and will drop on Friday, October 27th.
Bobby Hank is one of yesteryear’s living legends, an autoduellist once known as the Pale Rider.
These days he’s scraping out a living in the Hampton Roads Dead Zone, chased by old age, regret, and a cannibal horde. If he slips up, his wife Kat stays dead, and he really will be a has-been.
But opportunity is knocking . . .
Gordon Cory, an old pal from his bygone days of glory, has Bobby in mind for one last ride – the Dead Man’s Run, a nationwide road rally ending in the badlands of North Dakota.
Enormous cash prize aside, winning would mean a spot for Kat in a Herolutions research program. To start, he’ll have just three days to get to Memphis, Tennessee.
Can the Pale Rider survive long enough to win big?
