What Do You Love To Do In the Summer?

We drove out to visit family yesterday and ran into a bunch of traffic, most headed to the beach based on direction and the number of kayaks and surfboards we saw strapped to the roofs of the cars. Beach and pool season is definitely upon us in full force!

I’d be the one under the umbrella, but where’s the stack of books?

What do you like to do in the summer? Barbecues, time at the beach or in the pool, staying indoors with the air conditioner going full-blast? For me, it doesn’t matter where I am, so long as I’ve got a book in hand. I don’t get much time to do that these days, but I remember how it was years back!

Although the older I get, the less likely you’re going to find me up in a tree like this young lady. Still, if it’s the only place I can read in peace…

Well, we’ve got other activities going on this summer that you might be interested in, especially if you’re the reading type!

Imaginarium in Louisville Kentucky – 07/14 – 07/16

Imaginarium is almost here! It’s a small fantasy, sci-fi, and film (and more!) convention based out of the Holiday Inn in east Louisville. If you want a con that’s laid-back, friendly, and filled with a lot of great authors, game makers, and filmmakers, you can’t go wrong with this one. Three Ravens had a blast last year, and those who are going this year are ready to do it all over again, only bigger!

Dragon Con in Atlanta – 08/31 – 09/04

Late summer brings with it the biggest fantasy and sci-fi con in the country! Dragon Con is host to tens of thousands of visitors each year, and has enough going on that it takes over not just one, but five hotels in the downtown Atlanta area. If the crowd sizes don’t scare you away, you owe it to yourself to check this one out.

William Joseph Roberts Headed to In the Trenches 2023!

While this won’t happen until the Fall, this news just became official yesterday so it’s kind of summer-related? (Look, I make up the rules here, okay?)

Anyway, William Joseph Roberts, publisher, writer, and hillbilly extraordinaire has been invited to be a guest speaker at In the Trenches 2023, a writer’s workshop and conference up in Chicago. We’re excited to see what he’ll be speaking about, as well as what he’ll learn from the other writers and publishers there.

Dwarves of Rahm Audio in Final Review!

Good news for audiophiles, fans of Michael K. Falciani, and lovers of great fantasy epics! The audio version of Dwarves of Rahm has been turned in, and once it gets final approval, it will be ready for release! Check back soon for a release date, but don’t expect to wait long. This will make for a great summer listen, maybe when you’re stuck in traffic on the way out to the beach like we were yesterday.

If you haven’t read Dwarves of Rahm yet, it’s available on Kindle and in physical copies! You won’t be disappointed.

War, the only constant in the everchanging landscape of Rahm…

For millennia, the dwarves of the southlands have battled against their ancient foes, the sallowskins, who occupy the nation of Garthon-Tor to the north.

When a massive horde of goblins and orcs invade, the irascible bard, Omens prepares to flee The Golden Keep, content to let others do the fighting. Through a cruel twist of fate, he is forced to accompany Princess Merin in a diplomatic mission to summon aid. The contentious pair soon find themselves being tracked by a legion of sallowskin warriors, led by an orc assassin whose mission is to hunt down Merin, no matter the cost.

Racing for their lives, the pair happen upon the Gray Company, a group of surly Engineers known for their irregular tactics and questionable reputation. Striking a hasty alliance with the captain of the Gray Company, the group soon falls in with Gavakyn, the finest dwarven warrior in a generation. At his side walks Karn, the most hated goblin shaman in the northlands. Exiled by his kin, Karn carries a secret that will alter the fate of both the dwarves and sallowskins forever.

From the world of the Raven and the Crow, discover the adventure that awaits in, The Dwarves on Rahm: Omens of War.

Some beach-themed video game music to close it out!

If you’re wondering what’s with all the anime-themed pictures, one of the reasons it’s because is me and I live and breathe anime. It’s my favorite visual storytelling medium, right on up there with video games. The other reason is because this came up in my feed today. I have no idea if I’ll make it to the beach this year, but at least I can listen to beach-themed tunes!
