After a weekend writing retreat to Illinois we’re back into the swing of things with a brand new title dropping Friday, September 17th.
Upcoming releases
First up, we’re happy to announce our next release, “Outer Worlds“, a Science Fiction poetry collection by Terry Persun.
The future isn’t laid out perfectly.
There is no foolproof plan. There are many ways we could turn: clones, space travel, or remaining on earth. Choices, each one a different future for a different person or society. In these science fiction poems, Terry Persun, author of nine poetry collections, faces off with the various decisions that might open to humans in the future. In these poems, nature is often replaced with technology as our sense of self becomes blurred.
Following up close behind and re-releasing on September 24th, we have our next epic fantasy, “Ice Burns“, by Charity Ayres.
Magic is as good as a death sentence.
Chandra stands on the edge of what her life could be and who she is. The life that could be, involves the man that stands in front of her, the only family she’s ever known, with a knife pointed at her telling her to take it from him or die trying. Instead of a life of comfort and prestige, the would-be mage apprentice goes on the run. Chandra has no choice but to kill for freedom and deal with the darkness that begins to burn away her mortality from within. Her choice was never a real choice so much as a shove for Chandra into the cold world outside with only a hawk that she’s not sure isn’t part of her imagination and her non-existent survival skills. The hardest thing Chandra will face is not those who want to kill her, but overcoming the darkness inside her that pushes her to keep killing. The cold and heat in her soul will rise, but Chandra must decide who or what she will become. About the Author: Charity Ayres has written several stories and published three novels in various genres of fantasy fiction, but Ice Burns is the first novel that is epic dark fantasy. It’s a compelling story in which the main character must face the demons of her birth and those of her making if she wants to survive. It’s raw in its approach to what life can be like when a young woman is set out on her own to live or die. The journey is painful for both character and author, but that’s what makes it such an amazing story to participate in.

The first full novel of the explosive new Joint Task Force 13 series!
France, 1944. Allied forces are fighting in the hedgerows of Normandy, battling German armored forces. Hastily established airfields provided close air support and battle the Luftwaffe for control of the skies. One airfield is overrun by a supernatural horde, destroying every craft except a P-61 Black Widow, the allies new night fighter. Task Force 13, busy fighting the outbreaks of supernatural that always accompanies war, hasn’t an extra Marine to spare. A scratch crew of soldiers, airmen and one stray Marine pilot are given orders to seek out and destroy the horde of “gremlins” before they do further damage. Along the way they stir up something larger than they bargained for, and the war takes to the air.
There is a thin wall between our world and that of the Fae and, during times of war, it is easily stepped through. The passions and emotions stirred by violence and combat bleed over, and the supernatural often awake from a long slumber to meddle in mortal affairs. Then also, there are the humans who purposely force that wall down seeking glory and power. Either way, there have always been those among us who have been willing to meet the supernatural threat with cold steel, burning hearts and grim determination. In modern America, they are the men and women of Joint Task Force 13, those who have proven they have the mettle to confront soul blasting otherness on the battlefield. This unit, this organization, though, has been intertwined with our country since its birth. The name changes, but they are always there, ready to answer the call. Unknown, seeking no glory, asking no reward.
They hold the line … BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL.

After winning a watch cap from Dave Butler last year in one of his many giveaways, I fell in love with the quality of the embroidery and the quality of the cap in general. So I hollered at Dave to find out who did the work for him. He pointed me toward Byl and Odin’s Eye Embroidery. http://odinseyeembroidery.com/
Images of both caps are below. If anyone is interested in a watch cap, they are $25 + shipping. Email if interested.
