Two Anthologies Canceled
Due to a lack of submissions, we’ve had to cancel the following two anthologies: Tales From the Nightside and Broken Highways. We may revisit them again later, but for now there wasn’t much interest on the writer side of the equation. These things happen!
Darkest Shadow, Brightest Light Update
In other news, Darkest Shadow, Brightest Light is slowly grinding forward. We’ve finished making our final selections, so those who’ve submitted can expect to see an e-mail sometime this week! Again, I’m really appreciative for your patience as I’ve been dealing with a lot of life issues that took over. Moving and changing jobs with kids in tow is not for the faint of heart!
One thing I will note as a cautionary tale is to always read the full guidelines before submitting. A couple of the stories were rejected due to poor formatting and grammar, but others were rejected due to the story not fitting the theme of the anthology. We had some great ones in that pile, too! If the anthology were, say, horror or sci-fi themed, they’d have fit, but not this “dark-with-a-ray-of-hope” fantasy anthology.
