But apparently there is! And it’s coming up soon, just in time for the Olders’ Bookshelf to get a little bit bigger!

Tulip has lost her first tooth.
Should she put her tooth under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy?
While she’s deciding, she gets a visit from Poppy, a fairy in the Tooth Fairy’s court. Poppy tells her that Queen Quinella, the Tooth Fairy, is in a heap of trouble.
Tulip and Washington Twinkle, along with their basset hound, Truffle, fly to Shimmer-Shire, the Queen’s beautiful fairy queendom. They need to find out who’s trying to ruin the Tooth Fairy’s plans for Shimmer-Shire Sunday — a super special day for children all over the world.
Will the Twinkles get there in time to find the scoundrel? Will they save the fairies’ extra-special day?
A Disposable Man, now on Audible!

He was too young to fight, but war doesn’t check IDs.
A runaway farm boy. A fearless fighter pilot. A ghost in the shadows of the Cold War. When the agencies with no names needed a man who could do the impossible, they called Captain Tom Darby.
But no one stays a spy forever. He tried to walk away. Fate had other plans.
Before he vanished into legend, these are the missions they tried to erase.
Coming Soon: Entry Level by Scott Boss!

It’s 1990, and Leo Sanford has just been expelled from Central Baptist University for creating an explicit topiary of the female figure using a push mower on the front lawn of the quad.
After a humiliating ride home, Leo opts for an entry level job at All the Hits Video Rental.
During an especially dull shift, Leo finds an alien portal opening in the adult section of the video store, just behind the hanging beads. Defending himself with only a pair of rollerblades, he enters an alternate universe at war.
To get back home, Leo must promise to act as a messenger between the worlds, and return again with a pack of Lucky Strikes and a box of Lemonheads.
Writing Tip: The Beginnings of the Craft Library
Each of us on the writers’ journey has different needs from one another, but one thing we all have in common is a need for knowledge. We may have great ideas, we may have talent to varying degrees, but without the knowledge and the techniques to properly tell stories we won’t improve and hone our craft. That’s true of all of us. (Whether the desire to learn is there or not is another story entirely!)
I first got serious about improving my craft way back in 2014, after years of form rejections from different magazine and ezine publications. Something was wrong with my stories, but I couldn’t figure out what exactly. It wasn’t until I read two books in particular that things started to change, and I’ve acquired an entire library since then about all manner of subjects. But, we’ll keep it to two today:

Story Engineering by Larry Brooks breaks down story into a series of critical plot points that must occur at certain times throughout a manuscript in order for pacing to be correct and for the story itself to have maximum impact on the reader. Dan Wells did an interesting video breakdown of the plot structure discussed in this book, and to be fair it’s not unique to Larry or Dan. It’s discussed in a number of articles and books, but Larry’s explanation was the first time it actually made sense to me.

Techniques of the Selling Writer by Dwight Swain may be a bit on the older side both in its publication date and its writing style, but the information contained in it is just as relevant today as it was when it was first published. The chapters on how to properly write scenes and their reactive equivalents (He calls them “sequels”, not to be confused with follow-up novels and movies) and on how to write effective prose via Motivation Reaction Units alone makes the price of admission worth it.
I can’t recommend these two books enough! And, with all that writerly tips done, what we’ve got coming up next is…
