Where in the world did February Go? Check out our latest Starflight updates, Prison time with Jerry Harwood, The Greyman series by Jim Curtis, and freebies in this week’s update!

It seems like just yesterday that February 1st was here then we turned around and the entire month has flown by. As always, things have been crazy and hectic around here, especially with the added chaos of a bridge project and garden move. But that hasn’t stopped us from pressing forward with our upcoming projects.

First and foremost, we’ve had an amazing amount of response from our team of authors and the Starflight community for the upcoming anthology.

Without spoiling any of the great stories that we’ve had submitted, you are going to laugh, you are going to cry and you are going to be disturbed because anything to do with Veloxi and their strange habits will disturb anyone. With over a dozen confirmed stories, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

We also recently hosted a Starport Lounge mixer that was recorded at our local hangout, Pie slingers, and will be shared with the community very soon.

Our featured title this week, comes from Chattanooga area native, Jerry Harwood and is an interesting take on the Aztec creation myth.

Eli hoped to do his time and get back to living life outside prison. However, that hope faded when he watched a prisoner rip a guardโ€™s heart out and toss the body over the railing onto a funeral pyre of burning mattresses. The landscape of the prison begins to change as more and more strange characters strive for dominance in the anarchy that follows. Eli and his new friend, Tay, must navigate the chaos as the gods of the Aztec creation story emerge over the next twelve hours on the block.

Don’t take our word for it, just check out the reviews.

The Grey Man: Payback by Jim Curtis, is our latest title out on Audible.

Deputy Sheriff John Cronin and his granddaughter, Jesse, are preparing for Jesseโ€™s upcoming wedding to her Marine when the Cartel decides to murder some South Texas cops as a payback for arresting their drug smugglers. They send a hit squad to kill Cronin, Jesse, and everyone close to the family. The only problem?

They missed the old man.

Leaving his badge behind, John Cronin, Francisco and a few others head south to teach them a lesson about what old school western justice really means.

The Wizard's Way: A YA Steampunk Adventure Comedy

Monsters. Murder. Swashbuckling pug butlers.

J. Chaucey Thatcher has a monster inside him, but this is the least of his worries.

A murderer prowls the Iron City, slaying inventors. An angry mob storms close behind, blaming wizards. Any they find, they burn alive.

Chaucey is an inventor. He is also secretly a wizard, and the only person who can help with this secret was just murdered before his very eyes.

But when it comes to investigating, Chaucey is as dogged as his best friend is dog. With the help of his loyal pug butler, his sparky (almost? maybe?) girlfriend, and a sleuth of rambunctious bears, he has vowed to unravel the mystery of these murders and save the city from the grips of terror.

But the monster inside him burns for escape.

Will he save the Iron City? Or will the monster destroy it first?A smart steampunk adventure for fans of the Parasol Protectorate (Gail Carriger), and the Cinder Spires (Jim Butcher) series!

In near-future America, CIA agent Angela Martinelli faces off against the North Korea dictator Kim Jong-unโ€™s plan to bring down the United States. With no thought about how his actions might affect his allies, Kim launched a plan of nuclear and biological terrorism against the United States, and now itโ€™s up to Americaโ€™s over-stretched counter terrorist forces to stop the state sponsored terrorismโ€ฆ if they can.

The first volume of The Collapse races from crisis to crisis, trailing blood across the globe. From the barbeque pits of Memphis to the deepest vaults of the Pentagon, nobody and nothing is spared. Written by a man who investigated and planned for the very threats Martinelli fights to prevent, the driving force behind this relentlessly suspenseful thriller brings a realism that is terrifying because it is all too possible. Fans of William Alan Webbโ€™s Last Brigade series may think they know whatโ€™s coming, but donโ€™t count on it.
