Are you a Galactic Hitchhiker at heart? Do you demand a little timey whimey mixed in with your Sci-fi comedy? Then you’re going to love Zoomers, the next comedic gem from John Drake, plus new audio, the Corsari Universe, and more.

It’s been more than a minute since I tossed a post out to update all of our readers on what we’ve got going on around Raven Central. Between weddings, the garden move and grandbabies it has been hectic around these parts to say the least.

Any fan of Douglas Adams is sure to enjoy the works of John Drake.

Once upon a time, I got to know another author over in Twitter land who writes like the late great Douglas Adams. I fell in love with his first novel, Making Man, about a caveman engineer trying to find his place in the world. His second novel, Cheating Death, follows a cast of unlikely characters on their quests across France during the Black Plague.

Shortly after I’d read those two novels, I started poking John for something with a bit of Science Fiction flare to it. We signed John onto Three Ravens with his first two novels as he was working on his third, Killing Chance, a laugh out loud funny satire centered around Genghis Khan and his potential heir.

Then came the day when John typed out the first words to his first Science Fiction Timey Whimey novel…

I was born at the beginning. The very beginning. The Big Bang, The Stellar Birth, The Great Vomit. I forked away from the energy and enveloped it, surrounding all things as they spread out into the void. Every point in the universe has imprinted itself onto me. I can feel it all, have felt it all, for all this time. For all time.

It’s a bloody nuisance.

And thus, Zoomers, a trippy quest across time and space where Scratch, an unsuspecting petty thief finds himself as the unlikely hero saving the universe from oblivion.

Early readers should be on the lookout for an email very soon as our scheduled release is June 1st, 2021.

Latest in audio

The latest audio from Three Ravens is The Grey Man: Payback, written by Jim Curtis and Narrated by Mark Bielecki.

Deputy Sheriff John Cronin and his granddaughter, Jesse, are preparing for Jesse’s upcoming wedding to her Marine when the Cartel decides to murder some South Texas cops as a payback for arresting their drug smugglers. They send a hit squad to kill Cronin, Jesse, and everyone close to the family. The only problem?

They missed the old man.

Leaving his badge behind, John Cronin, Francisco, and a few others head south to teach them a lesson about what old school western justice really means.

Coming soon to audio

In post production review, we have Fae’s Amulet, Written by J.F. Posthumus, Narrated by Teri K. Jobe.

“What would you do if you had the power to destroy the world…

In her younger years, Catherine Woulfe was known as the Lady of Death…but those days are long past. Now, at over 300 years old, she is older, wiser…and painfully dull. Instead of using her necromancy skills for things like killing people and taking over governments, she now works as a private investigator, helping people find their lost treasures.

But when a charismatic stranger walks through her door, searching for one of the most powerful artifacts ever created, she is drawn into a case where she must use all of her old powers—including several forbidden ones—if she is to find the missing amulet. When the last person to see the amulet goes missing, she realizes it’s time for the Lady of Death to summon her minions and go on the warpath.

Angels and demons are searching for the amulet, as is a mysterious dark elf about whom little is known. Everyone is stalking her, waiting for her to find it so they can grab it for their own; meanwhile, her client has awoken feelings long suppressed, which is proving to be…distracting. Can Catherine find the trail of the thief and recover the amulet before the thief uses it to summon a deity that will destroy the Earth? More importantly, if she gets it, will she give it back?”

In Audio Review

The next title in the cue for audio release is Bloodstone, written by R.J. Ladon, Narrated by Sam Rosenthal

“Kragnor is an ancient gargoyle who was released from his 700-year prison by the spell of an unknowing Kevin Arkis. Now cursed to share one body, Kevin and Kragnor must learn to work together. Kevin enlists the help of fellow high school senior Megan Petrov who has secrets and a curse of her own. Unable to help Kevin, Megan asks her father, Artem for assistance. Artem sees a way to escape the bad choices of his past which could cost Kevin, Kragnor, and Megan their lives.”

New Urban Fantasy from J.F. Posthumus and the World of Corsari.

J.F. Posthumus

First off, how could we ever say no to those eyes? If we did, she might curse us with an invasion of hamsters or worse. We are excited to have our first next Urban fantasy, Taking the Night in the editing cue for this summer’s reading lists.

We are also excited to announce The Journey, a fantasy novella set in the world of Corsari, and an Anthology call for short stories in this open fantasy universe.

Anthology call for submissions: “Embers of Corsari”

A new world that will be available for other authors to dabble in. Yes, there’s a world bible you’ll have to look over and abide by. Genre is high fantasy. If interested, post below and I’ll message you the link to the world bible.

Submission call:
Enter a world of heros, villians, monsters and gods.
Where magic is as common as the air your breathe.

I’m looking for stories about the beginnings of heros or villians.
Or even their ends.
The start of wars… or perhaps the end where little is left but devistation and the embers of hope.

Fiery-tempered warriors or Red-headed temptresses. Or perhaps even Pyromaniacs.

Everything begins with a burning ember: may it be hope or hate, love or revenge.

Email submissions to: ladyafterdeath @ gmail dot com
