Do you want to be part of the JTF-13 universe?

Then you’ll want to check out our open call for short stories in the JTF-13 universe below.

Good morning all! I hope that your weekend hasn’t been too terrible, even after all of the cold white stuff blanketed the South Friday night. If all goes well, we won’t lose any of our fruit that has already started to bud and blossom.

Now, on to the good stuff and the weekly updates.

Upcoming Deadlines

Like I mentioned above, the JTF-13 universe is looking for new stories for our upcoming Legends Anthology. Stories are due by April 1st, 2022, so get to writing!

We want fun and engaging stories of military members/units confronting the supernatural on the battlefield. We want to fall in love with the characters and ride along with them on their adventure. Stories centered around forces other than the branches of the United States armed forces are welcome, but there must be a JTF-13 tie-in at some point, even if it is at the end of the story.

Stories may take place anytime from the Revolutionary War up to 2015 and must adhere to Universe Canon. For clarification on creatures/ten/etc. or deviation requests, send us an email with your proposed change. If you would like to review the currently available titles in the JTF-13 universe, they are free for download from Kindle Unlimited at the links below. Or check out Dragon Slayer by Alex Piasecki, the story that initially kicked off the universe.

For more details and universe bible, see the Open Call page for Legends.

Recent releases

This past Friday, we celebrated a new book birthday with the release of “Darkness in a Sky of Embers” by Catori Sarmiento. It is a compelling mix of Alien Invasion, Military Thriller, and Young Adult coming of age elements.

Here’s the back cover blurb.

There could be no doubt of the terrifying presence of the Helgrammaw…

She had seen them when the Ashfall came. The day of humanity’s upheaval. The day when the creatures arrived and her morbid curiosity drove her to see them again with her own eyes, and kill them.

“Mad” Madeline Yazzie, a young Ordnance Corps soldier on the front lines of humanity’s fight against the Helgrammaw, an unknown species overtaking the Earth, discovers the price of war and the nature of her enemy.

Then we have Paranormal City by Stephen Oliver, an excellent collection of Dark Urban Fantasy stories set in his City of the Strange.

Welcome to Paranormal City!

There’s hospitality for all here, be you vampire, demon, walking dead, or one of the werepeople. We’ve something for everyone, no matter what your needs or tastes.

Listen to some of the tales of those who live here. They’ll tell you this is the greatest city in the world.

Oh, and mundanes are also welcome. Just try to fit in.

A Devil’s dozen tales from Paranormal City for your delight… and terror.
