Nevermind Cyber Monday Sales: Check Out These Great Books!

My whole household was down with some sort of illness this weekend, so we missed out on the chaos of Black Friday. Not that we would’ve gone, but we even missed out on some of the digital deals that were out there, and those are what we usually take advantage of. Fortunately, some sales continue on into this week like the Steam Autumn Sale, and there are a couple of games I’m looking to try out for what limited free time I have these days, like the open world detective sim Shadows of Doubt and the low-graphics, high-content Warsim: The Realm of Aslona.

One game I purchased recently that helps scratch both the gamer’s itch and the writer/reader’s itch is Roadwarden. To hear the developer describe it, it’s “an illustrated text-based RPG that uses isometric pixel art and combines mechanics borrowed from RPGs, Visual Novels, adventure games and interactive fiction.” That’s a long-winded way of saying it’s essentially an interactive visual novel, in the vein of the old text adventure games from the late 80s/early 90s, but with several quality of life improvements for a more modern audience. I can’t recommend this one enough:

In Wavesong, It’s Hunt or Be Hunted!

The newest JTF-13 novel released on Black Friday, and it’s already earning accolades from readers and fans of the universe:

If you’re a fan of the JTF-13 series, you won’t want to miss this novel! And if you haven’t experienced the stories of this elite monster-hunting unit, then you can’t go wrong with making this your first. Also, if you purchase it in this first week of release, you’ll be helping a great cause for veterans! (More on the Shepherd’s Men organization below)

Something hunting…

In the secret world of spies, a Russian has stolen the most advanced torpedo guidance computer ever developed. America’s only hope of recovering the weapon lies in the crew of the USS Sea Devil. But the Sea Devil isn’t the only predator on the hunt.

Something hungry…

In the hidden world where things that go bump in the night exist, Sergeant John Morehouse and his Marines of JTF-13 stand ready to protect the innocent from the beings of the Never-Never. He’ll bet his guns, bullets, and grenades against their fangs, claws, and sorcery in any fight. And his team is always hungry for a fight.

Something ancient …

The worlds of spies, submarines, and sea monsters collide explosively in the North Atlantic where Sergeant Morehouse finds himself and his team caught between Heaven and Hell against something that sings a…

To aid in this, we are donating $1.00 for every sale of Wavesong during its opening week. That includes pre-orders, so don’t hesitate if either the book or this cause is of any interest to you.
