So it would seem! A lot has happened in just a matter of a couple of weeks. The 250th anniversary of the United States’ birth, LibertyCon, and several book publications before and in-between, and still to come! Somewhere in the midst of all this, I’ve also had some crawlspace issues that are getting dealt with (including removing 1,800 square feet of old, rotten insulation with the help of a couple of dear friends; oh, and a couple of rats. Pulled from the crawlspace, not helping out). An encapsulation and foundation repair is coming next month. That will be fun. Expensive, but fun. Oh, and a gutter system to keep rainwater away from the crawlspace.
Somehow, through that and a couple of health problems, I’ve managed to get a few words down here and there. And sometimes it really is just that: a few. But progress is progress. Both for the fantasy novel Shield of Souls (the first Necrolopolis book, yay!) and this mecha space opera universe I’m building out in my spare time. I’m about ten pages into a forty page short story as of this writing, and looking to have it finished before the end of August, at the latest. As for the novel, I keep getting pressure at both ends of it. The story is growing longer but within acceptable parameters, and there have been life setbacks slowing down production. I was hoping to have it finished by the end of the summer, but it’s looking more like the end of the fall or possibly mid-winter.
Anyway! Enough about what I’ve got going on. Let’s get to some Three Ravens updates! There are a few regarding our shared universe IPs, so exciting stuff! But first…

For fans of the original Starflight series–or its spiritual successor and my personal favorite, Star Control 2. rejoice! I can’t go into too many details yet, but know that a trilogy of books set in the Starflight universe is in-production! If you’re interested in seeing what it will be like, check out the Starflight anthology we put out in 2021 when we first licensed the sprawling, galactic-sized IP.
